Here is a place for us to discuss retro shops and flea markets!
So i did alittle digging and i did find a store in boone that deals with retro games called the gamefather located in the mall. I also found a flea market but it looks like a log cabin with junk in it. I want to visit that gamefather store but not make a big trip out of it.
Whats some of your favorite places to shop for retro games?

Man, I haven't been to Boone in about 13-14 years, but I absolutely loved it. I liked that one strip where there were stores and all kinds of places to shop. I don't remember the names of any streets or anything, my friends knew the place since one of them was from there, so I just followed where ever they went, lol. I've often wondered if it's changed since the economy went down. I want to go back sometime, I hope it's not dead like most places seem to be nowadays.

Oh, and as for favorite places to shop to Retro Game, 2 Dudes always has interesting stuff that isn't easy to find anywhere else. Tri-Cities Flea Market in Bristol/near Piney Flats, TN is always great, I don't think I've ever left that place without finding something interesting at a decent price. There's a great little store in Greeneville, TN, can't think of the name of it right off, but I have found really good deals there, too, thanks to a friend who introduced the place to me. That's where I found my RPG Maker for PS1 a couple months ago for a good price.

I have a few decent retro game stores in my vicinity. I like one called Legacy Games and another called World of Games. There's also a grimy comic store nearby with some games.

That's pretty cool, Chappy! Even the comic store ... I have to drive at least 45 minutes to an hour to get to anywhere. There used to be a G2K Games 15 minutes from me, but unfortunately they closed it last year. Before that, one of my close friends was a manager at Replay Games that was in the same place G2K was. That was my haven, I was sad to see it go, too.

I haven't been to Pop Culture yet, I've been a little scared, with the horror stories you guys have told me, lol. I wonder how late they stay open in the evening? Maybe I could swing by after work sometime.

Talking about Boone...I think the down turn did eat up a lot of the neater places on the strip. That huge comic shop is gone which made me sad. They had tons and tons of old and indie type comics and collectables.
Pop Culture has some good deals on occasion. They're all young so all they know is Nintendo really. They seem open to chatting it up and absorbing information though.
If you want to go one day this week swing by my place and we can ride out there.

I have no idea why I didn't see this post sooner, I'm sorry. -_- But yeah, I need to bring the games by and I bought you and the kids some books at a booksale today, so I need to swing by sometime, I'll holler at you first though! I got you an X-Files book and the boys a Halloween costume kids book, I hope that's cool and that ya like 'em. So guys, here's the scoop on flea markets and retro shopping in Kentucky, at least in Pikeville. There is a retro game/toy shop called Page-3's Game Zone. I found an SNES game I didn't even know existed, Super Pinball Unmasked, for $5. They have some super super rare games, but the ones on consignment run ridiculously high. They had some awesome Saturn titles, including Panzer Dragoon II and Panzer Dragoon Saga. They did have some good deals, but there was some stuff that was marked up higher than what I personally thought it should have been. My friend in Kentucky says that in the summer, people in town just typically set up shop on the side of the streets and roads on the weekends and even through the week for a few hours during the day. Apparently, there are bigger flea markets and consignment shops in Lexington. I'll get some more information, but I think it would be good to head out very early in the summer, pass through Pikeville early morning and head on to Lexington by mid-morning. It sounds promising, at least!

With the weather looking good I'd say it would be safe to set a date for a trip near the end of April. Sounds like fun.

I'm more available this week so just send me a message and we'll figure when to hang out. On those Panzer Dragoon games, do you know what they were asking on them? Typically those games get priced close to 300 bucks each these days.

Cool, I'll have to see about this week. I just discovered I have a nasty stomach bug this afternoon, and it's definitely not being kind. -_-
I know they have $600 on Panzer Dragoon Saga. I always wanted those games back in the day, they look amazing.

I'm thinking they have $150 on Panzer Dragoon II, but I'll double check on that.
