The summer is coming to a close here soon and the weather is gonna start changing. During the holidays its always been a tradition for me to start a game with some depth to it. It was always enjoyable to play some final fantasy or something on some snowed in days from school. I know today were older and it doesnt matter how much it snows we still have to work but when i get time i still try to play something during the cold season.
This year I think im gonna play through epic mickey 1&2 for the wii and wii u. After that im gonna barrow dark savior from fist and play through it.
How about you guys? I know its early to discuss but what kind of games do you like to play during the holidays or whats some games you played when you were younger on them snow days? Also Halloween will be coming soon, whats some scary games you gonna try to play thru?

I've made it a weird tradition since I was a kid to play through all of the nes Mega Man titles close to the Christmas Holidays. When I was a kid of course I was pretending that I was "saving Christmas." Sometimes in a similar "saving Christmas" mood I would play through all of the Sonic Genesis titles in one sitting.
When it comes to Halloween I love to pick up my Phantasy Star Online characters again. Probably because I have such good memories of playing through the online Halloween quests with my friends and chatting in the giant pumpkin lobbies.
Now that I think of it, I still have files on my VMU from the Sonic Adventure 1 black market to change the theme of station square to a Halloween celebration.

Strange as it sounds I always get the urge to play thru the Legends MegaMan series during Christmas. I'm sure this has something to do with getting the 2nd game for Christmas one year. I've only played through the 1st game twice and the sequel once since 1998 or when ever it came out so I'm pretty excited to play it again soon!

Final Fantasy 7 was a big one for me when I was younger. We had a brutal snow fall the year that came out and many school days were cancelled (or I just didnt go ) and I played a lot of FF7. It got to the point where I would carry my PS1 to my Highschool Sweethearts house and play it there after school as well. Another that brings up fond Christmas memories is Mortal Kombat on Sega Genesis. Mortal Kombat, oh boy. That was right when MK came out on home console and the SNES got the watered down version and us Sega owners got the one with blood and a 6 button controller. What a time to be alive. I played the hell out of that game. I used to bring the instruction manual to school to show off to all my friends, since 90% of them were SNES owners and didn't have the good version like I did. Thanks for ruining that Mortal Kombat 2.

Man there's just nothing better than being snowed in with the 16 bit consoles. Oddly enough, I enjoy Super Mario World the most while there's snow falling outside.

I plan on throwing myself into Final Fantasy V (PS1), SaGa Frontier II (PS1), and Unlimited Saga (PS2) this fall and winter. I would also like to find Fire Emblem for GBA and get into that. I'm a huge Fire Emblem fan, and I'm also going to pick up Fates Birthright and Fates Conquest to get lost in, as well (too bad those two games don't come out until 12/31 or I'd be all over them now).

Now that you've mentioned that one, I have to cite Cabelas big game hunter for having played it at a relatives place one thanksgiving.
If you want to know what it's like...the moments sneaking around and trying to find game feels like hunting (I guess, I've never actually been). Once you pop off the first shot though, it's Doom and nature is ready to fight back!

The words "Grand Slam" just make me hungry. Thanks Dennys or where ever that came from.
