I'm not ignoring this thread, it's just a really hard question to nail down haha. Recent favorites that come to mind at least are Console Wars and the Hunger Games series. I wrote a review of Console Wars which will explain why I like it: www.superradarcade.blogspot.com/2014/09/my-thoughts-on-console-wars-by-blake-j.htmlI like the Hunger Games for several reasons. Science Fiction is one of my favorite genres. I'm partial to female leads. Contests of life or death are interesting to me, though I suppose that's kind of morbid. When you try to imagine yourself in that situation it can be a terrifying thing to explore, especially if you imagine yourself against members of your own age group or even your friends. There is of course a lot more to the Hunger Games than this but it was that idea that encouraged me to check it out.

I will have to agree with Fist, this is a tough question to answer and my favorite could change next week but here goes.
I gotta go with Jurassic Park by Crichton, no, Timeline, no, Eaters of the Dead, nah I'm going with Jurassic Park.
The first time I read Jurassic Park was in 3rd grade if you can believe it, lol, I went to take a test for reading points at the library on it and the librarian said I was lying. He couldn't believe I read that book. Well, he let me take the test and when I made a 100 on it I had one hell of a smug look on my face I imagine, lmao. Anyway, if your in to Science-Fiction and you enjoyed the movie in any way you will love the book a lot more. Having seen the movie does not spoil the book in any way. The story in both are similar but drastically different in many ways.
