This idea was born when I was trying to find favorite anime openings and discovered that there were some iffy cartoons that could have been secretly anime or at least extremely overdubbed, etc. But I was also a child when these were came out and we had closet and/or wannabe anime, so as Fist suggested to me, why not a new thread? So here are mine. Some of them are pretty goofy and corny, but they bring back those warm fuzzy childhood memories of stuff I used to love.
Corny, but I knew I was in for a treat when I heard that music come on!

I was a Pole Position nut when I was a kid but now I'm afraid I can't remember anything about it at all now except for the opening. I had a hotwheels car I decided was Rhoadie and it used to drive my parents nuts because I wouldn't leave the house with it. I now know as a Dad how frustrating it is when your kid is after that one specific hotwheel out of an endless collection.
Here are some of my favorites cartoon openings:

If any of you are looking for the M.A.S.K. theme for your MP3 player, rip this with YouTube to MP3:
Ulysses 31 has such a cool theme song:
If you want that killer late 70's early 80's rockin theme here's the extended version, minus NoNo talking:

Interesting, I hadn't heard of Ulysses! I might have watched M.A.S.K., but I can't remember much about it. Great memories!!

Dude i completely forgot about grimms fairy tales. I remember my favorite episode was the one where these three princesses kept disappearing at night so this prince dude watched over them and he had to fight off these masquerade demon dudes. That show makes me think of this also!

Ha ha, yeah, the gnome in the Grimm's Fairy Tales opening made me think of David the Gnome, too! I loved that show. Broke my heart the first time I ever heard Tom Bosley drop the F bomb, lmao. He really didn't change his voice much to do that character, so it was like hearing David the Gnome say it, lol.

Here is one of my favorites, not many people remember this show. I've been searching for an affordable DVD set for awhile but where it was a British show most of the DVD sets are PAL or Region 2 or whatever it's called, point is, it wouldn't play in American DVD players. There are some out there just expensive. m.youtube.com/watch?v=qF6xdUAuPHY

My avvie is from the Duckula opening, ha ha. I loved Duckula, Bananaman .... so much good Brit stuff. There are new Danger Mouse episodes, too, in the U.K. at least. I don't know how well it's doing, though.

I never could get into Danger Mouse. The pacing of it made me really anxious as a kid. They all talk...I dont know...not fast but like they're in a big hurry. I can't put my finger on it exactly I just found it unnerving.

I grew up in the UK, and although it seems like not a lot of people over there remember this but TMNT were actually renamed to Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles because they were worried that 'ninja' had too violent a connotation.
Check it out:
If I remember rightly they removed a few of the weapons too. So not only were we stuck with slow arse 50hz television sets they had to tone down American cartoons aswell!
I dont think Britain had an abundance of its own cartoons in the 90s but one I do remember due to its quirky English humour was Bananaman. The tale of a small boy named Eric who is transformed into a mighty superhero upon consumption of mere fruit.

I think it's pretty cool that you grew up in the UK, Mark! I had to chuckle at "Hero" Turtles, but after years of Japanese anime being water-downed for those of us here in the States, I can relate! And at least Hero doesn't take much away from them, other than it sounding a teensy bit odd after singing along with "Ninja" turtles all these years, ha ha. Yes, I do sing it, try not to judge me, ROFL. I loved Bananaman! It seems like most of them were extremely short episodes, but if memory serves me, it seems like they did have a 15-20ish minute special at least one time. Thanks for the trip down memory lane there!

Bananaman has such an awesome tune to it. It sounds so much more epic than the show actually is though I really love Bananaman.
I'm glad Turtles didn't get edited any more than it did. It could have been far worse:
