You gotta love the work they put into the backgrounds and bad guy designs in Brave Star, it's like straight of Heavy Metal.

I wonder if there could be a connection. Filmation worked on He-Man too and it always had really interesting backgrounds. The character animations were pretty good if not frequently over used but those backgrounds were always killer.

The animations were good, but I don't know. I just can't seem to get into BraveStarr, but I can always watch He-Man. Both come on the Retro Channel where I live, so I get to catch both sets of reruns if I want, yay!

I dig the updated intro theme: While I very much like the new intro, I admit that I groaned at the Star Wars-style opening, only because DM has never had to rely on pop-culture references, but oh well - it looks like the reboot is going to rely on them a lot, but I guess they're just trying to keep up with the times and all. I am happy with the voices, I was concerned about that, but they sound pretty good. Looking forward to more, it looks promising, overall. |
