That'd be a scam and a half if they could keep the money. I'm starting my indiegogo for my Warp Drive designs if that's the case. I have no prototype but TRUST ME, I know what I'm doing. If you donate particularly large amounts I'll write your name in space with my warp trails. I only need 1.2 billion.

I'll just say the closer they can get it to 100 the more likely I'll be to get one. Unfortunately you get what you pay for with new electronics. If the price ended up on the lower end of $100.00 I'd be really worried about quality of the system itself. What would the sweet spot for this thing be do you think? When they get around 200 dollars you run into the problem of hey I could just save up 100 more dollars and get myself a PS4 or a 3DS.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would pick a Retro VGS over a PS4 if they were the same price. Probably why this first campaign failed to be honest, there where obviously other factors in play but I think that was the nail in the coffin. I think if it's priced anywhere between $150.00-$180.00 they should be good. I just don't see a lot of bitching points with this price range. What Retro VGS needs to make clear to potential backers is Yes, this is new 16-32 bit hardware BUT this is not early 90's technology. This thing should have the potential to make some gorgeous games but using the graphical look from the 16-32 bit era we love so much. They have got to make us want it. We have all heard it before, games sell the hardware. This go round they HAVE to show us more gameplay footage. They are selling new hardware to a niche market, retrogame enthusiasts. Unless a game just has an amazing reputation, I make the decision to buy a game based on game footage. Just announcing a game I have never heard of is t enough to make me WANT it, lol. Basically the point I'm doing a bad job at getting at is they have to make the people who have an interest in this thing happy. To make us happy, show me games I'm going to WANT to have/play, otherwise people who have the (hopefully) $150.00-$180.00 saved up for this thing will just buy a 3DS. We don't give a shit how many colors we can get it in, lay your hand on the table Retro VGS, show us what you got.

If only someone from the project would come read this thread. It's practically become a road map to success for this thing haha.

The more I think on it, Cheetahmen was the answer. Big missed opportunity.

No sarcasm. I think Cheetahmen could have been the killer exclusive title that could've launched this machine. It would probably cost these developers too much to get a popular licensed character to base a game on.

I'm picturing this theoretical Cheetahman game as a more action filled Lost Vikings.

Not a huge fan of this podcast but they bring up some interesting points. Unless they blow me away when they come back, I'm done with this thing for now, lol

If some of the background information in that podcast is true then im glad I didnt back it, not that I ever really could have at $450 CAD.
I think its now dead in the water, too much bad press around it which they only really have themselves to blame for. I didnt know they hadnt got anything close to a prototype made yet which is pretty embarrassing.
I guess those who backed can at least spend their mountains of cash on the Analogue NT.

After watching that I don't think I could back it, even if they come back with a revised price model. I think the guys behind this were just dreaming too big and had no idea what they were getting into.
But I have to admit it was fun to hope and dream for the thing anyway. I guess I was too dumb to realize just how big the promises they were making were.
