Hey guys just wondered if any of you wanted to try out some new games we all havent played before? We choose a game (preferably a more obscure one), go play it over a few days and come back and discuss what we thought of it.
I dont have anything particularly in mind but I am kind of limited to Genesis/Master system games as they are the only Everdrives I have currently. Also I love shooters but not sure how much observation we could get out of what are normally pretty short games. Anyone up for it?

I'm down! I have a hacked Wii which is basically the same thing as an Everdrive. I have Genesis, SMS, NES and SNES.

Do you mean we're all going to decide on a game and play the same one for a while and then come back to discuss it?

There is something similar called the Cartridge Club. They pick a game each month and play and discuss it on a podcast etc. This month is Super Ghouls n Ghosts. I just tracked down a copy this weekend for that But yea, it's a pretty cool idea, and works well. I'd be down if anyone wanted to organize something like this for the future.

I want to know what you guys think of "Jim Powers: The Arcade Game" for the MegaDrive. Fistofthewind actually suggested this game to me not long ago. Not the greatest game but...well I want you guys to try it out, lol. If you guys have a pair of sunglasses you can put them on your head only covering 1 eye to make the game 3-D! You can also pop one of the lenses out but if you don't want to sacrifice a pair of sunglasses I had some success just putting them on my head crooked.
Try out "Garfield: Caught In The Act" also for the Genesis/MegaDrive. Again, not the best game but I haven't played it enough to judge it to harshly. What really impressed me was the sprites. Garfields sprites is super cool and so are most of the backgrounds. It almost feels like your playing an episode of the 90's cartoon.

Havent heard anyone talk about this in years and never played it so good choice. I am down for that.

This sounds like a fun idea! So how long do we try the games for before we come back to discuss them? Should a new thread be made for each game we play to discuss it?

What do you guys think? I guess it might get a little crowded in here so should we just start a thread for each game suggested?

Heck if they go on long enough it could become a thread dedicated to that game series, much like the Sonic the Hedgehog thread. And it's not like there is a limit on the number of threads we can make I'll give another vote for Jim Power as I've never played with it much more than to check out the 3D/shades trick. But with it being October, I would also like to nominate Master of Darkness on the Sega Master system for us to play through as well. I think we should set the "play time" for like 2 weeks and bump it out longer if it's like an RPG or something else with length. Love this idea!

So did everyone play Jim Powers that wanted to play it?
If so does anyone have anything in mind for what we should play next? Bare in mind Halloween is coming although we could probably get a game thats not 2spooky in first as well as Halloween game before Oct 31st.
Heres some halloween suggestions:
Zombies Ate My neighbours Night trap Corpse Killer Splatterhouse 2 or 3 Ghosts and Ghouls

My vote is for spookiness all the way! Any of those games are fine with me too. Why don't we do all of them from now until Halloween? Or is that too many?

I wish I had time to play 5 new games! Hopefully when baseball season ends I'll have some time free in the evenings to play some games, but as it stands now I couldn't possibly play that many. I've been playing Ghouls N Ghosts for Cartridge Club this month (ugh, that game is way too hard), but I haven't popped in Zombies Ate My Neighbours in awhile. I'll give that one some play this weekend. I've been on the hunt for Splatterhouse 2/3 for a while, I keep finding them cart/box, why do people hate manuals?!

I've never played Zombies Ate My Neighbors (gasp!) so it gets my vote.

Whoever wants to give feedback about it first go ahead and start the thread.
