Talking about the arcade on the other thread, whats some of your favorite arcade memories or if you happen to find a machine of some sort what have you played recently?
The only arcades i find nowadays are the ones they have in pizza plus restaurants in our area. The one down the road from my work has a nice working daytona usa machine. Actually gonna go there this evening lol.

Lots of good memories in the arcade. I know I was one of those kids that could stand around watching "the masters" perform fatalities on MK all day.

I'm always a sucker for pinball games at the arcade or at pizza/mom n pop places. I used to love the Ms Pac-man table machine at a place called Emit's, it's a veterinary clinic now. It was the only arcade game I'd ever seen where two people could play sitting opposite each other (it was one-player, too). I used to rock some DDR back in the day, too.

I was either glued to Street Fighter or on a side scrolling beat em up. I can never resist the call of a pinball machine either.
For you locals (Chappy included because I know you're going to move here eventually) have you heard about Silverball City? One of the restaurant owners in Johnson City is opening a retro barcade in the spring there.
10 bucks lets you play all day. During the day its family friendly and will serve decade appropriate snacks. Of the evenings they'll serve beer.
They said the machines are from the owners personal collection. He plans on keeping 30 pinball machines and 20 arcade cabinets in at all times.
What gives me hope for it is that hes already a success and owns several businesses in the area. He said in an interview with the JC Press that the arcade idea is just one of his hobbies and dreams. Sounds like a great time to me!

I'd definitely recommend the atrocities then (Johnson City is pretty awesome). Elsewhere is kinda meh.

I'm gonna assume you meant the tri-cities? Haha.
Yeah I'd stick to Bristol or Johnson City. They're the most modern of what is considered the Tri-Cities.
Back on the arcade subject. I wonder how open they would be to having the occasional tournament there. Events are always a blast.

The phrase "decade appropriate snacks" really excites me for some reason, lol. What does this mean? A Loose Meat Sandwich with Ecto-Cooler?

The article only mentioned TaB soda being available in the decade appopriate snacks section. They said they would carry some special canned beers too.
Also says they'll be open until midnight on weekends as well.

I read somewhere else that he's using it as an outlet for collectors looking for pinball machines and stand ups to negotiate trades and sales as well. So it sounds like he's still in the collector's market too.
I just want me some onion rings, Jolt cola and a line up for Street Fighter 2 Championship edition.
