Finally picked up a Saturn the other day, so I'm really excited to get started collecting but I'm really not sure where to start. Can you guys give me some suggestions on some decent but cheap games to grab up? What about the RAM Cart? Is that something I should look into now or down the road?

Thats a good question, if you look at japanese released games instead of american they are cheaper. Xmen vs street fighter is a good example if you was interested in getting one of those carts.
From what i learned from owning a saturn in our area is that games are only found by certain dealers and its a hit and miss with those. 2 dudes are the only ones i know i see saturn games come in here and there. Surprisingly online you can find pretty good almost complete games for decent prices.
If you get your hands on some daytona or sega ralley which are really cheap look up the saturn wheel, i hear they are fun to use and they arnt expensive at all.

I thought this was going to be about Sega Saturn clothing line or something lol.
You need to get NiGHTs that was my favorite game on that console. Pretty much anything first party Sega is perfect on there.

I agree with Dreamcastie , NiGHTS is a MUST for Saturn, but I don't know that you're going to find it on the cheap. Battle Arena Toshinden Remix is a GREAT fighting game, I highly highly recommend it. There is a dude named Ten Count that is pretty much Michael Jackson made over, haha, and he's actually a decent fighter. They're all good fighters. Love that game. There is a neat little game called Astal that I think you and your daughter would love to play, Brandon . It's adorable but challenging enough to keep you interested in pressing forward. The backgrounds on the game are simply beautiful. I've never played Clockwork Knight, I hear it's good. I have played Clockwork Knight 2, and it's really fun! If I can think of any others, I'll be sure to post back. As long as your lithium ion battery is holding up, I think you should be okay as far as the brick of a memory card, but it might be something you want to consider on down the road. One of the other long-time Sega Saturn players might be able to speak to that better than I can, I haven't played mine in ages, but I've always had it in the back of my mind to get that, myself. I need to make a permanent place to set mine up, I miss playing Saturn. It's a great system, I think you'll really love it. Enjoy!!

I've already had to change the battery so I should be good until I get a RAM cart. I found the Action Replay one for $25 online, seems to be a pretty good deal. Are there any benifits of buying the Sega brand opposed to this one?
I'm not sure what I'm going to buy to play to be honest, lol, so many I want to try but then the prices make me sad...
Think I may just buy a game lot when I get my taxes back to get myself started with a base collection.

I have never personally had any problems *so far* with Action Replay or Mad Katz third party products. There are purists who will tell you to get nothing but the OEM stuff, and that's fine, but I've had OEM stuff like adapters and memory cards actually fail on me just the same. I did buy a store brand AC adapter for my 3DS, and that thing fell apart in about 2 weeks, so in my opinion, it's a risk either way. I'll gladly stand corrected if someone else has a third party accessory horror story!

Well I've decided not to bother with the RAM cart for the moment. I just worked out a crazy good deal with a dude on eBay for a Saturn Wheel and Stunner, Daytona and Virtua Cop included! Saturn has some great racers and they are on the lower end of around $10-$20 (most of them) so if this wheel works really good I'll probably grab up all the racers I can, lol. I flippin love light gun games and I've never played Virtua Cop so pretty excited to try it out.
You guys have suggestions on Racing games for the Saturn? Any other light gun games except Virtua Cop 1/2?

Is the Saturn 3-D Pad any good? Not really interested in getting one at the moment since I don't own NiGHTs yet but can you use it on any game? Would you want to? Lol, might seem like a silly question but I'm not very knowledgeable about the Saturn.

Lol, might seem like a silly question but I'm not very knowledgeable about the Saturn. Think of it as essentially the precursor to the Dreamcast pad. It's nearly the same design. As far as getting a RAM cart goes, you want to go with one of the Action Replay ones because those allow you to play imports and doubles as a memory card. The OEM ones are pretty much what they say they are and nothing more. As far as pricing is concerned, do not pay too much for NiGHTs. It was really common (like everyone with a Saturn probably had it) and I feel like people are trying their damndest to inflate it. That being said, might want to keep an eye out for it.

That's some good information on the AR RAM cart, I had no idea, Fist. I'll definitely have to keep that in mind.
I think I have 2-3 demos of NiGHTS, Brandon, I'll have to go through my stash and give you one if you don't grab a copy before then.

Well I'm watching a By it Now for Nights and the Controller for $50. It's only the small jewel case version of NiGHTs tho. This seems like a good deal considering what each of these items are going for separately. Not sure if I should go for it or try to be patient for something better to come along.

That's actually not a bad deal at all, although I know I prefer the bigger case. You might want to consider it or catch it in a lot of games where it might be cheaper (per game).

You could always look into making your own cases. You can buy dozens of white dvd cases for cheap and the coverproject has everything in dvd case size.
