*smacks forehead* A toothbrush! The model 1 cart slot has quite a bit more grip than the model 2 so Ive been having some trouble getting un there. Thanks for the pro-tip! Any time. Did your results improve? Unfortunately no. It has to do with something else I imagine, not too upset tho, I'll at least have a spare with most working parts if I ever need them.

Yeah if a good thorough cleaning didn't help then it probably needs some kind of part somewhere. Probably too hard to pinpoint plus expensive to replace vs getting another console.
Like you said though, now you do have a spare for some parts replacement.

I wish I thought to mention this to you earlier, I had to do this when I bought a used Vita. Anyway, what your going to want to do is get rid of the old owner from the system. This will become troublesome because it locks thropies out of games they have already played and can make PSN purchases a pain. You will need to completely wipe and format the memory card (if the original owner used it all) even if you delete everything that's on it there are hidden files the Vita keeps with their info, so it has to be wiped clean. The second thing you need to do is restore factory settings, this is going to wipe the Vita clean. I know it sounds scary but for this to be singulariy your Vita and only have your account attached to it this is the only way.

There might be some tutorials online on how to do this and you personally may not want to go this route but I know I had some trouble out of my Vita the first week I had it because of the old owners info was still on the system. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to help you out.

It's cool, I appreciate all your help! . I formatted the memory card and restored factory settings, but it's still saying I can't earn trophies. You said there might be other things to try?

Once they do, click on the 3 dots and hit delete. After you've done that, make sure your signed into PSN and reinsert the game. It should say it's installing it. Boot it up and let me know if your still getting the msg.

I'm having intermittent issues with my internet tonight, and my laptop isn't detecting my modem at all. And I need to get a PSN account set up. Do you recommend not playing any of the games until that's done?

Do you recommend not playing any of the games until that's done? You should be ok to play them since there is no account attached. It SHOULD transfer all trophies to your account once you sign in. Actually, I think it will let you create the account offline (maybe) and then it just sends all the info once your internet is back up.

I still don't have the unit connected, but the problem was that he was somehow still logged in. I've done a few more resets, and I'm no longer getting the trophy message, yay!! Thank you so much for all your help, Brandon!!!! I owe you some Japanese on our next outing!
